This group meets every other Thursday, dates and hours are posted on the library window at 115 west Broadway. In addition, the Kidder County Bookmobile travels to Pettibone, Robinson, Tappen and Tuttle biweekly. During the summer, the Bookmobile also stops in Dawson. Bookmobile driver is Gayle Christenson.

 

Kidder-Emmons Senior Services 475-2708 

This organization provides congregate dining, home delivered meals and senior adult transportation.

 

Steele AmVets Brian Bartlett  475-9470 

This organization welcomes all veterans and meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Steele Veterans Club at 7pm.

Steele Area Betterment  Krista Wolf

The Steele Area Betterment Group is open to individuals, businesses, and non-profit groups who are interested in networking and sharing information on how their current projects are impacting the city. Steele Fire Department  Chief, Phillip Porter 475-2548

The Steele Fire and Rescue Department provides local individuals, families, and businesses with assistance and critical services in times of need. The department is always looking for new volunteers.

 

Steele Park Board Shannon Hager 426-3574

The Steele Park Board meets the 3rd Monday of every month at the Steele Community Center at 7pm. The board helps maintain the Steele park system and schedules summer programs and coaches for several programs including tee-ball, little league, babe ruth, legion and softball.

This group manages the World's Largest Sandhill Crane site and the small park associated with it.

Senior Organizations

 

Golden Age Club 
This energetic group of seniors is open to anyone over 55. they meet each Tuesday at 1pm at the Steele AmVets for either a rousing game of cards or Bingo. Lunch is served.
 

Steele Active Seniors Bob Schoepp

This group meets the 1st Monday of the month at the Steele Senior Center at 6:00pm  for a meal at a nominal fee, followed by a business meeting and usually a program.  Guests and new members are welcome.

 

Golden Manor Auxiliary 475-2251 A very active group.   Meets the first Wednesday of each month at The Golden Manor at 1pm.

Each year the churches of Steele join together for a community Vacation Bible School. Open to all youth ages 4 through the 6th grade are invited to attend.

 

Kidder County 4-H Clubs The Kidder County 4-H program provides a fun, family friendly environment for youth to gain essential skills in leadership, public speaking, showmanship, teamwork, sportsmanship and other valuable skills that they will utilize throughout their lives.
