Steele's 125th artwork logo was designed by Rev. Robert Pestal, a former Lutheran pastor in Steele. The Northern Pacific steam locomotive is a reminder of Steele's history as a railroad community. The three story building featured on the logo is the Kidder County Courthouse as it was originally built. The third story of the building has since been removed. The grains of wheat, the windmill, and the cream can are images that represent Steele's history as a rural prairie farming community.
